Electrical Engineering Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Positions Available: 3 positions
Clearance: Top-Secret clearance is required at the time of hire
Pay rate: $33.93 2nd shift plus 10% shift differential and overtime
Shift: 2nd shift 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM typical (HMS 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM)
Position OverviewACARA Solutions is seeking Electrical Engineering Technicians to support our client in Scottsdale, AZ. This role is focused on electrical and electronic systems within advanced engineering environments, including prototype development, testing, and validation of cutting‑edge technologies such as laser/light transmission devices and specialized electronic test equipment.
This is a hands‑on role working closely with Engineering and Operations teams to support electrical design, circuit testing, troubleshooting, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities- Support engineering activities including electrical design, testing, checkout, and modification of prototype systems
- Build, wire, and troubleshoot electronic circuits, assemblies, and test equipment
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit drawings
- Perform debugging, calibration, and validation of electronic systems and components
- Conduct and document electrical testing and data analysis to support engineering decisions
- Assist in development of test setups, fixtures, and electronic test configurations
- Identify root causes of electrical issues and recommend corrective actions
- Document results, procedures, and improvements for engineering and production teams
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support product development and testing
- Working with Engineering, Operations Support and individuals in other departments, the Advanced Engineering Technician will support engineering activities such as design, test, check‑out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro‑mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.
- Interprets basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics.
- Constructs, modifies, debugs, troubleshoots, calibrates, tests and adjusts a variety of tools, equipment and systems.
- Conducts, analyzes and documents statistically based experiments to define process parameters.
- Implements and documents complex solutions for process improvement.
- Designs and constructs basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks.
- Organizes, analyzes and interprets data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering technician or electromechanical support roles.
Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools.
- Ability to fabricate complex hardware.
- Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory.

- Superior communication and collaboration skills.
- Requires an active Top Secret Clearance.
