Operations Manager
The Manager, Project Development is responsible for leading the development of large-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and storage, from initial siting through permitting, financing, and construction, working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage renewable energy projects from proposal through to construction and commercial operation.
- Conduct site evaluation, permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder engagement for project development.
- Coordinate and support project financing efforts, including due diligence, contract negotiations, and securing funding.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and internal approval processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, and external consultants on technical assessments, interconnection studies, and contract review.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, environmental science, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry in the U.S., with direct experience in full life‑cycle development of utility‑scale solar and or wind projects.
- Experience and familiarity with all facets of land development including landowner engagement and negotiation, contracting, title resolution, subdivision, agricultural land use, water restrictions, land ALTA surveys, GIS, and other real estate elements as required.
- Experience managing project schedules and project budgets, as well as an understanding of key project value levers such as commercial and financial factors.
- Experience managing cross‑functional employee groups, including project teams and external stakeholders such as agencies, to execute on a project development strategy.
- An understanding of the development life cycle of wind, solar, and storage projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of governmental mandates, environmental regulations, or customer market signals that impact or facilitate new development of renewable projects in MISO, ERCOT, and SPP markets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to successfully communicate in all situations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage simultaneous project work streams, set priorities, and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to travel as required, approximately 25% of the time.
Salary range of $134,000 - $190,000 depending on location and experience
Hybrid work schedule with in‑office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays
