Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south‑east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

The Maintenance Planner, Operational Readiness plays a key role in ensuring the effective planning, scheduling, and execution of Hermosa’s work management processes. This role is responsible for establishing a strong work management foundation through the development and management of master data, including equipment strategies, job plans, material codes, and asset criticality assessments during the initial phase. Over time, the role transitions into a full‑time maintenance planning position, with accountability for weekly planning, scheduling, contractor coordination, and shutdown planning to support operational efficiency and compliance with organizational standards.

32 Hermosa’s operational readiness and long‑term asset reliability objectives.

This role is a Permanent position based at the Hermosa Project site, near Patagonia, Arizona.

• Build and validate equipment maintenance strategies and task lists.
• Develop detailed work instructions to support safe and efficient execution.
• Ensure alignment with reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
• Conduct criticality assessments on assets to determine risk and prioritization.
• Categorize equipment based on operational impact, safety, failure modes, and cost implications.
• Use criticality rankings to drive maintenance strategy development and resource allocation.
• Create and maintain material master data in the ERP system (e.g., SAP).
• Establish and manage material master data, critical components, and inventory strategies.
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to optimize stock levels.
• Ensure accurate and complete master data entry for maintenance activities.
• Support work management system improvements by refining data structures.
• Provide data‑driven insights to improve asset reliability and planning efficiency.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans.
