TEMPEST Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an experienced TEMPEST Engineer. As a member of the EMI/TEMPEST Group the candidate will perform TEMPEST testing, provide TEMPEST design support, and develop TEMPEST Test Plans/Reports for a wide variety of tactical communications systems, rugged communications equipment, and computer equipment for military applications. Products range from tabletop subsystems to large complex vehicular systems.

General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Representative Duties and Tasks:

• Review and develop TEMPEST test plans
• Perform TEMPEST testing in accordance with the applicable standards
• Work closely with product teams to troubleshoot problems as needed and recommend cost effective solutions with minimal design impact
• Review and develop TEMPEST test reports
• Manage equipment calibrations and repairs
• Troubleshoot and solve equipment and test setup issues

Knowledge

Skills and Abilities:

• Candidate must be a Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II or be a Level I with the ability to achieve a Level II certification
• Familiarity with TEMPEST standards including NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02, and related NSA technical memorandums
• Perform testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02
• Familiarity with TEMPEST test equipment such as, TEMPEST receivers, oscilloscopes, dynamic signal analyzers, signal generators, etc.
• Candidate must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate across programs and shifts
• Candidate must be able to work independently, communicate clearly, and effectively with employees and customers
• Candidate must be able to write TEMPEST Test plans and reports or demonstrate the ability to learn

Preferred Certification and

Experience:

The candidate must be a current Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP) Level I/II, or have the required background/experience to obtain certification in short-term.
