Responsibilities include coordinating with other disciplines, performing supporting calculations, meeting with clients to discuss conceptual and final designs, and traveling to job sites for observation, coordination, and investigation.

Our electrical design services can include power distribution, lighting, and electrical modeling.

This position may involve travel to job sites for observation and client meetings and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Olsson’s growing federal portfolio.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of electrical systems and coordination across a range of federal projects. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Design electrical systems for federal buildings, upgrade power distribution networks, and ensure compliance with safety codes and environmental regulations.
  • Implement renewable energy initiatives while improving overall energy efficiency for federal facilities.
  • Conduct site surveys and troubleshoot electrical installations to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, project status reports, manuals, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure all designs and installations align with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, federal agency requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Plan and manage project budgets, schedules, and proposals while coordinating teams across federal agency projects.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Assist in recruiting for the federal team.
  • Represent Olsson in client meetings and site visits, providing expert guidance from concept through construction and ensuring client satisfaction.
