Location

Arizona or California (Virtual role with periodic office presence; proximity to a major airport preferred).

Role Overview

Zurich is seeking a Senior Construction Specialties Risk Engineer for the Builders Risk Line of Business. This position involves leveraging Zurich's risk engineering tools to improve customer risk and manage business partner relationships. You will conduct remote and onsite surveys and risk assessments for construction projects, including large data centers and the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform onsite and remote risk assessments and operations reviews.
  • Provide technical support to customers, underwriters, and the claims department.
  • Identify risk improvement strategies and prepare internal/external reports.
  • Manage business partner relationships within the region.
  • Travel requirement: 25-30% (Company car provided).
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience in Construction, Engineering, or Risk Consulting OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with 8+ years of experience.
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice (with Associates degree) and 6+ years of experience.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Technology.
  • 20+ years of combined experience in Construction/Project Management/Engineering consulting.
  • Expertise in data center construction and energy projects (solar, geothermal, hydro, nuclear, etc.).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, hazard identification, and construction supply chains.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, building information modeling, and virtual consulting tools.
  • Professional certifications (CCM, P.E., PMP, AIA, LEED AP, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing skills.
Compensation and Benefits

  • Short-term incentive bonus eligibility: 15%.
