Project Responsibilities
This Mechanical Project Engineer position manages, designs and drafts detailed construction drawings, sketches and revisions per architectural backgrounds for mechanical engineering systems.
- Designs for Central plants, Chiller Replacements/Cooling Tower Replacements, Mechanical Air-Conditioning and Distribution Systems, Exhaust/Ventilation, Life Safety Systems, Critical Environmental Control, Energy/Building Management, Plumbing
- Provide Construction Documents for Design-Bid and Design-Build Approaches
- Complete Due Diligence Evaluations of Existing Building Systems
- Provide Energy Studies and Life Cycle Evaluations
- Design for LEED Certification
- Construction Cost Estimating
- Provide Energy Audits
- Assist with Proposals on System Descriptions, Diagrams, and Calculations
- Identify Value Engineering Concepts and Options for Savings
- Interpret Codes
- Coordinate in-house Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services
- Coordinate with Utility Companies/Agencies having Jurisdiction
- Conduct Construction Observation and Administration
- Commission the Systems (for LEED Certification)
- Mechanical Air-Conditioning and Distribution Systems
- Exhaust/Ventilation
- Life Safety Systems
- Critical Environmental Control
- LEED Certification Procedures/Design
- Energy/Building Management
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university (preferred - not required)
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience in consulting engineering
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD and REVIT MEP
- Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality of work
- Self-manager to accomplish multiple project responsibilities
- Continuous practice of personal accountability and desire to improve
