DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2027
. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the field of engineering within the renewable energy sector. As a Field Engineer Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to support the construction and maintenance of 100-300MW utility scale solar PV plants.

This role will support the construction of utility‑scale solar power plants across the United States. Candidates must be flexible to spend the summer onsite at an assigned project location and should anticipate the possibility of relocating for the duration of the internship based on business needs. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What

You Will Do
  • Assist in the execution and construction of solar power plant projects.
  • Gather data and information for project planning and construction.
  • Support Project Teams by preparing reports, red line drawings, inspections, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues and optimize project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies on‑site.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.
  • Opportunity to obtain a drone piloting certificate and assist with field surveying based on site needs.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Currently pursuing a degree or alternative program in Engineering or technical study (i.e. Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management or related engineering field).
  • Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2029
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or sponsorship

  • Exposure to or experience with solar projects, power systems or construction‑related activities through coursework, projects, or professional experience

For this role, we anticipate paying $30 hourly. This role is eligible for overtime.
