Are you a numbers-driven professional with a knack for precision and a passion for real estate finance? Our client, a well-established player in the commercial property space, is looking for a Commercial Property Accountant to join their Scottsdale-based team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking full ownership of financial processes from start to finish.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Take ownership of daily accounting operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Monitor and reconcile bank activity, ensuring accurate transaction records and timely wire transfer entries
- Oversee and maintain depreciation schedules for fixed assets
- Review financial reports with a sharp eye before submission to the controller
- Lead the preparation of property-level budgets and provide meaningful financial insights and variance analysis
- Support operating expense tracking and ensure all costs align with budgetary expectations
- Manage accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections
- Leverage Yardi software for both accounting and property management workflows
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate accounting (commercial preferred, residential considered)
- Deep understanding of property operations, financial reporting, and expense reconciliation
- Proficiency with Yardi and intermediate Excel skills required.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and financial acumen
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
