Operating on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), we are seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager who thrives in a fast‑moving, high‑accountability environment.
Role DescriptionThe Accounting Manager will serve as Helia’s first dedicated finance and accounting lead — a player‑coach role responsible for both tactical accounting operations and strategic financial planning. This individual will ensure our financial foundation is strong (accurate books, billing, compliance, and reporting), while also helping leadership make data‑driven decisions through budgeting, forecasting, and SaaS performance analysis. The role is ideal for a driven professional who can own the day‑to‑day details while building scalable processes and systems as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable (AR/AP) functions, ensuring timely collections, vendor payments, and cash flow visibility.
- Oversee customer billing and SaaS revenue recognition under ASC 606, maintaining deferred revenue schedules and ensuring accurate monthly cutoffs.
- Lead bookkeeping and month‑end close
, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. - Maintain compliance with tax filings, business licenses, and regulatory requirements (multi‑state sales tax, SaaS nexus, annual filings).
- Support administrative and operational finance needs
, including insurance renewals, payroll coordination, and banking relationships. - Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for leadership and the board.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and documentation to support scalability and audit readiness.
- Partner with the COO and CEO to analyze key SaaS metrics — ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, gross margin — and identify performance trends.
- Lead the company’s annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
- Build financial models and dashboards to support scenario planning, pricing analysis, and strategic decisions.
- Partner cross‑functionally with sales, operations, and customer success teams to ensure financial alignment with operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally in SaaS or subscription‑based businesses
. - Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606) principles.
- Proficiency with Quick Books Online, Excel/Google Sheets
; experience implementing FP&A tools or ERPs a plus. - Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and balancing tactical execution with strategic planning.
