About Allied Development, Allied Investments, and Vest Right

Founded by Cody Bjugan, a 20+ year veteran in land development, Allied Development is a land development company specializing in identifying, controlling, entitling, and preparing off‑market raw land for residential development. We control land without owning it, add massive value through the entitlement process, and deliver development‑ready opportunities to America’s homebuilders. Allied American Land Fund is our evergreen private real estate fund that provides capital to support Allied Developments land acquisition and development projects.

We deploy investor capital directly into deals, manage fund‑level financials, track project performance, and deliver returns to limited partners. Vest Right teaches Cody’s proprietary LDP Model (Land with Development Potential) to aspiring land acquisition and entitlement specialists nationwide.

The Role

This is a hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves CFO position for someone who has lived in the trenches of real estate development finance and private fund management. You’ve built financial models for land deals. You’ve tracked project budgets against actuals and explained variances to investors. You’ve deployed capital into real assets and managed the financials to prove how real estate projects make money. The CFO will lead company‑wide finance and capital strategy across Allied Development, Allied American Land Fund, and Vest Right.

This role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on execution and is responsible for ensuring financial clarity, capital stewardship, and rigorous project‑level financial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and oversee financial planning across Allied Development, Vest Right, and Allied American Land Fund, including forecasting, budgeting, cash flow planning, and executive reporting.
  • Lead monthly close and ensure accurate consolidated financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) across operating companies and the fund.
  • Partner with leadership on strategic financial planning, decision support, and growth initiatives.
  • Provide clear, actionable financial insights to support decision‑making.
  • Manage multi‑entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and consolidated reporting.
  • Own and oversee financial operations for Allied American Land Fund, including fund accounting, capital deployment tracking, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • Lead capital strategy for tracking deal pipeline, approved investments, drawdowns, and performance against underwriting.
  • Prepare investor‑facing financial models, forecasts, and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Manage fund‑level liquidity planning, reserve policies, and capital allocation across active projects.
  • Support investor communications, including periodic performance reporting and distribution schedules.
  • Advise leadership on capital structure, deal financing, and optimal use of fund capital.
  • Partner with legal and compliance to ensure fund operations align with fund documents and regulatory requirements.
  • Own and oversee core finance systems (Quick Books Online and related tools) and ensure they scale with the business.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls across AP/AR, purchasing, approval workflows, and fund disbursements.
  • Improve finance processes and reporting cadence to support growth without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and consistent financial practices across all entities.
  • Embrace the use of AI and emerging technologies across finance and the broader business to improve efficiency, insight, and execution where appropriate.
  • Manage relationships with tax advisors, auditors, fund administrators, insurance providers, and legal counsel.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, fund governance, and sound financial practices.
  • Oversee lender relationships and debt compliance where applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • Real estate development or real estate private equity/fund finance experience – you’ve worked on actual deals, not just analyzed them from the sidelines.
  • Strong understanding of project‑based accounting (WIP, job costing, budget‑to‑actual tracking).
  • Fund or real estate SPV experience – you’ve…
