What The Role Is
The Senior Business Reporting Analyst for Credit and Energy Risk will reside within the middle‑office function supporting the risk management of energy marketing and trading activities across Clearway’s portfolio of renewable and conventional generation assets. This hybrid role is located in the Scottsdale, AZ office. The analyst will focus on streamlined reporting of key risk metrics to stakeholders and on the automation/development of the Risk Team’s day‑to‑day activities, ensuring data quality and intuitive analytics to support decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and support middle‑office processes by enhancing effective procedures through data automation.
- Leverage IT infrastructure knowledge to manage, construct, and analyze large volumes of data housed primarily in the Clearway ETRM and other sources (S&P, Moody’s, internal contract system).
- Transform large data volumes into key reports and visuals using Power BI, PowerPoint and HEX.
- Create and maintain dashboards that present positions and exposures, including credit exposures, Value at Risk, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and exposure against position limits.
- Report credit exposures, positions, risk assessments, operational risk issues, and performance to senior management and the Energy Risk Committee in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with Front Office and Back Office staff to achieve productive outcomes for the enterprise.
- Prepare polished, best‑in‑class materials for the Energy Risk Committee, Monthly Enterprise Reviews, Monthly Compliance Discussions, TQR Technology Advisory Panel discussions, etc.
- Utilize Clearway’s Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) as a source for risk management and reporting.
- Apply artificial intelligence to provide scenario‑based evaluations, improve workflows, and review content for accuracy.
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, economics, finance, business, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of middle‑office operational experience with credit and/or market risk knowledge in an energy trading or commodity environment.
- Detail‑ and process‑oriented mindset with the ability to lead initiatives.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex issues in an executive‑level format.
- Proactive, willing to take on tasks or projects independently.
- Direct renewable energy experience.
- Knowledge of power markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM).
- CPA/CFA designation or progress toward it.
- Advanced Excel, Power BI and/or HEX reporting, Python programming, SQL automation skills.
Salary Range: $100,000—$113,000 USD, depending on location, skills, experience, and education. The role is eligible for an annual cash bonus subject to performance. Clearway will not sponsor non‑immigrant visas for this position (H‑1B, TN, E‑3, etc.).
