ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Financial Analyst is a hands‑on partner to Project Managers and the finance team, supporting the financial management of active projects while contributing to a maturing corporate finance function. This is not a task‑only accounting seat, it is an opportunity to influence project performance, review margins, support billing, and vendor activity, and help build better insights, structure, and decision support. The role balances detail-oriented execution with broader financial thinking and will evolve as the finance function matures.
This role manages multiple concurrent projects with varying contract types and complexity and operates with a high degree of autonomy while remaining closely aligned with project and finance leadership.
THE HEART OF YOUR ROLE: RESPONSIBILITIES- Partner with Project Managers to review project status, track progress billings, and monitor financial performance, risks, and margins across active work
- Support fee proposals, contract setup, and amendments — identifying key risks, gaps, and assumptions
- Own client invoicing support: line‑by‑line billing review, PM coordination, timely submission, and AR/collections follow‑through
- Review sub‑consultant invoices, commitments, and payment terms to support project‑side accounts payable
- Track project revenue, backlog, and budgets; support month‑end close and monthly project financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting, including earned revenue, over/under billings, and margin fade analysis, to support project and executive‑level financial visibility
- Support corporate FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, lead tracking, variance analysis, and ad‑hoc decision support
- 100% Employer paid Medical and Dental Insurance
- Optional Employee‑paid Vision insurance
- 401(K) matching
- Life & Disability Insurance
- Enjoy a balanced workweek with 9‑hour workdays, plus a half‑day on Fridays.
- Optional in‑office work on Friday afternoons, where you can also bring your dog.
- Performance bonuses
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in financial analysis, project‑based finance, accounting support, or a related business partnering role
- Exposure to project environments where billing, margin review, invoicing, or vendor payment coordination are part of the workflow
- Solid understanding of core finance and accounting concepts, including how operational activity flows through billing, payables, and project profitability
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to organize information, take ownership of follow‑through, and communicate clearly with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
- Experience with Deltek Ajera, Net Suite, or other ERP systems preferred
- Sound financial judgment, high integrity, and professionalism
