JCR Companies is a retail-focused real estate investment firm with approximately 1.4 million square feet under management. The firm acquires and operates grocery-anchored and necessity-retail shopping centers across the Sun Belt, Mid-Atlantic, and Mountain West, backed by a base of private and institutional investors.
The firm maintains offices in Franklin TN, Rockville MD, Whitefish MT, and Scottsdale AZ.
The position will be based in the firm’s Scottsdale, AZ office.
Position SummaryThe Investor Relations Director owns the full lifecycle of the firm's relationship with its capital partners, from initial recruitment through ongoing communication, reporting, and day-to-day liaison. The role serves as the primary point of contact between the firm and its limited partners, ensuring that investors are informed, engaged, and confident in the firm's stewardship of their capital. The position sits at the intersection of capital markets, asset management, and firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities Sourcing Investors- Identify, source, and cultivate prospective limited partners (high-net-worth individuals, family offices, RIAs, and institutional allocators), managing each through a defined pipeline from first contact to subscription.
- Prepare and present offering materials (pitch decks, PPMs, subscription documents, underwriting summaries) and represent the firm at conferences and investor events to expand its capital base.
- Coordinate subscription and onboarding alongside legal counsel and accounting to ensure accurate, timely closings.
- Serve as the day-to-day voice of the firm, responding to investor inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
- Draft and distribute deal announcements, capital calls, distribution notices, and market commentary on a consistent cadence that keeps investors informed between formal reporting periods.
- Translate complex real estate performance data into clear, accessible narratives for a non-specialist audience.
- Partner with the Controller on quarterly and annual reporting packages detailing property- and portfolio-level performance, financial statements, distribution schedules, and key metrics.
- Author and coordinate quarterly investor letters, synthesizing input from acquisitions, asset management, and leadership into a cohesive institutional narrative.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all reporting, and partner with accounting to reconcile figures and support annual audit and tax cycles.
- Act as the central conduit between investors and internal teams, routing questions and requests appropriately.
- Coordinate investor meetings, calls, and annual reviews, and maintain the investor CRM with accurate records of commitments, communications, and preferences.
- Support principals in deepening key relationships and gather and relay investor feedback to inform capital strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in investor relations, financial reporting, capital raising, private equity, real estate, or a comparable capital markets role.
- Strong command of real estate financial concepts, including net operating income, capitalization rates, cash-on-cash returns, and internal rate of return.
- Experience with grocery-anchored or necessity-retail real estate.
- Familiarity with private placement structures
- Existing relationships within the private capital or family office community.
