This is a full-time, on-site internship starting approximately June 8, 2027 and ending approximately August 20, 2027.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning late September 2026. Initial interviews are expected to begin in mid to late-October 2026, and we anticipate completing the majority of hiring decisions by late December 2026 for Summer 2027 internships. POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Intern supports analysts, associates, developers, and project partners throughout the real estate development process. This position assists with market and acquisition analysis, financial modeling, financing and tax credit applications, project planning, construction administration, and other activities related to the development of affordable housing communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conducts market research and analysis to evaluate demographic trends, comparable properties, rental rates, occupancy levels, and other factors affecting potential development opportunities.
  • Prepares and updates financial models, cash flow projections, and other analyses used to evaluate the feasibility and financial performance of development projects.
  • Assists with the evaluation of prospective acquisitions, including the review and organization of financial, operational, market, and property information.
  • Compiles documentation and supporting materials for financing applications, tax credit applications, funding submissions, and other project-related requirements.
  • Prepares and maintains construction matrices, project schedules, development trackers, and other tools used to monitor project milestones and deliverables.
  • Reviews investment agreements, legal documents, due diligence materials, and other project documentation under the direction of Development team members.
  • Collaborates with Development team members and internal and external project partners to support project planning, construction administration, due diligence, and other development activities.
  • Maintains timely and regular attendance and performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
    • Demonstrates an interest in real estate development or finance; an interest in affordable housing is preferred.
    • Possesses strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members and internal and external project partners.
    • Organizes and prioritizes multiple assignments, meets deadlines, and maintains accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Works effectively both independently and collaboratively in a professional and flexible environment.
    • Handles confidential and sensitive business information with appropriate discretion.
