Overview

As the HR Manager for the Arizona market, you will be a key partner to leadership, supporting managers and associates across the organization. This role focuses on employee relations, talent management, compliance and HR administration while also contributing to areas such as leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, leadership development, benefits and payroll.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership in employee relations and ensure policies, procedures and practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including analysis, maintenance and communication of records and files required by law or local governing bodies or agencies.
  • Recruiting and retention of a high performing culture.
  • Collaborate with leaders and the Talent Acquisition team to identify, evaluate, and hire talent for various roles within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure robust onboarding plans to effectively integrate new associates.
  • Analyze causes of turnover and suggest approaches to drive improvements in associate retention.
  • Educate and coach leaders on performance management processes to develop potential and reward competencies; partner with supervisors to coach associates to maximize performance and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Act as an advisor to managers on employment issues, promotions, performance issues and terminations.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including Ethics Hotline concerns, and conduct effective investigations.
  • Coach leaders and associates on the company culture to support goals and drive associate satisfaction; assist with organizational structure and staffing level recommendations.
  • Partner with leaders on associate engagement and develop engagement plans based on survey feedback.
  • Analyze HR metrics in partnership with the HR Director to develop solutions, programs and policies; provide timely reporting to stakeholders and leverage technology to streamline HR operations.
  • Collaborate on HR aspects of acquisitions/takeovers, including culture, change management, benefits, compensation, incentives, performance, structure and policies.
  • Ensure local compliance with labor laws and reporting requirements (EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, workers’ compensation, DFEH, OSHA) and assist with investigations as needed.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge/experience in Human Resources (minimum of 5 years).
  • Specialized training in preventative labor relations and HR management (required).
  • Broad knowledge of labor and employment law, wage and salary administration, and well-developed administrative and communication skills (required).
Skills
  • Strong leadership, integrity and character; ability to build a cohesive HR team.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ADP).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize; able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License and state-mandated vehicle insurance for travel to meetings and locations as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods; adequate finger dexterity for typing.
  • Hours may extend beyond normal office hours, including evenings, holidays and some weekends; schedule may change based on business needs.
