This role contributes to the Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground Mission Integration (GMI) effort-building secure, scalable ground systems that enable resilient space capabilities. * Design, implement, test, and deploy software components for SDA ground operational systems.
* Develop robust APIs and services; create unit/integration tests and automate validation.
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; apply Git Ops, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
* Containerize applications and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes.
* Collaborate with development, operations, and security to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
* Author technical documentation (architecture, interfaces, runbooks) and contribute to readiness reviews. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 months of experience.
* Agile / Scaled Agile experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Python and Java; strong understanding of API design, testing, and management.
* Knowledge of Dev Ops principles (CI/CD, automation, IaC), cloud platforms (AWS; Azure a plus).
* Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
* Understanding of security best practices (risk/compliance, vulnerability management, encryption/PKI, auditing/monitoring).
* Excellent problem solving, communication, and documentation skills. Clearance Requirements
* Department of Defense Top Secret clearance preferred at time of hire.
* Applicants may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
