Position

Description:

Solutions Engineers at Okta engage across all stages of the customer’s development lifecycle. This role requires experience utilizing demos, presentations, email, phone, and social media to connect with customers. We seek collaborative teammates capable of building sales presentations, delivering product demonstrations, conducting technical proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations, and educating customers—from developers and product managers to C-level executives—on leading cloud security and identity technology.

Okta’s Solutions Engineers excel at customer empathy, quickly discerning technical needs through detailed questioning, and presenting targeted solutions. Solutions Engineers possess a unique blend of technical savviness and business insight.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Okta, you will refine these skills by advising a diverse portfolio of Fortune 500 customers on the capabilities of Okta’s Identity Platform.

• Collaborate with account executives to develop and execute territory and account strategies, maximizing Okta opportunities within those accounts.
• Execute the delivery of complex POCs for customers utilizing Workforce Identity (Okta) and/or Customer Identity (Auth0) use cases, coordinating with other Okta engineering teams as necessary.
• Conduct research and discovery to understand customer requirements and articulate the business value of solving technology problems using cloud technology.
• Craft technical content demonstrating implementation of specific use cases or standard methodologies for new technologies.
• Author concise written documentation for RFPs, security questionnaires, and product use case blogs.
• Prepare and deliver demonstrations showcasing how the Okta platform addresses customers’ business needs and use cases.
• Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams.

• 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese proficiency is a significant advantage).
• Preferred:
  Background in Identity or Security technology.
• Ability to travel freely inside and outside the USA to Latin American countries.
• An established professional network within LATAM (including partners, companies, and the tech scene).
• A strong passion for customer service, demonstrated in a customer-facing role such as consulting, support, or ideally, solutions engineering.
• Ability to quickly and effectively communicate complex technical concepts via presentations, slides, and whiteboard sessions.
• Confidence in dispensing knowledge to highly skilled and experienced audiences, including presenting to large groups of field experts.
• Typically requires 20-30% travel.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field.
• Preferred:
  Hands-on coding experience in one or more of the following areas: web development (JavaScript, HTML, frontend frameworks), mobile development (iOS, Android), or backend development (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby).

Candidate must be willing to attend an in-person onboarding session at Okta offices in SF or Chicago.
