Expert Level Travel Network Engineer

Must have strong experience with Palo Alto implementations & configurations.
We are seeking a highly experienced Expert‑Level Network Engineer with deep hands‑on expertise in network design, architecture, and Palo Alto firewall implementations and configurations. This position involves substantial travel across multiple states and supports a wide range of business units within a dynamic enterprise environment.
Location:
Travel to AZ, CA, NV, UT (75% of the role is traveling). Candidates must reside in the Pacific Time Zone (PST). This is a contract position based out of Scottsdale, AZ. The role is a hybrid position in Scottsdale, AZ.
- Network Engineering & Infrastructure
- Design and architect enterprise‑scale network environments
- Configure and deploy routers, switches, and other network systems
- Lead on‑site installations of Cisco and Palo Alto hardware
- Perform rack & stack activities, structured cabling, and hardware mounting
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues, cabling faults, and access/switch problems
- Support WiFi and wireless connectivity across Cisco
, Aruba
, and Meraki platforms - Work extensively inside IDFs, MDFs, and server rooms
- Support and maintain server infrastructure, including:
- VMware vCenter
- Windows Server
- HyperV
- Scale Computing
- Networking: Cisco, Aruba, Meraki
- Firewalls: Palo Alto (Required), Fortinet
- Servers: VMware vCenter, Windows Server, Hyper
V, Scale Computing - Security: Crowd Strike
- Device Management: Autopilot (light exposure)
- Ticketing: Freshdesk
- PCNSE certification
- CCNP or higher Cisco certification
- Proven experience deploying and configuring Cisco switches
- Strong understanding of rack/stack, cabling, IDFs/MDFs, and data center environments
- Ability to design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures
- Experience leading multisite network deployments or refresh projects
- $75.00 - $85.00 / hr
