Hypertec is seeking a Sales Director to join our Public Sector Sales team in Scottsdale, Arizona

What You’ll Be Contributing:

We are seeking an experienced Public Sector Sales Executive to drive growth across government, defense, public safety, healthcare, and education customers. This role focuses on selling high-end, mission-critical technology solutions (hardware, software, infrastructure, and services) that support complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for federal, provincial/state, and municipal public sector accounts, research centers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and procurement teams.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage complex opportunities with long sales cycles.
  • Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and negotiated contracts.
  • Position high-end, mission-critical technology solutions (e.g., secure IT infrastructure, rugged devices, networking, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, or specialized systems).
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Forecast pipeline accurately and manage opportunities through CRM.
  • Monitor market trends, government funding programs, and regulatory changes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, focusing on value, ROI, risk reduction, and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of public sector sales experience, ideally in high-end or enterprise technology
  • Strong knowledge of public procurement and contracting processes
  • Proven track record managing large, complex deals
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling into defense, public safety, healthcare, education, and research institute
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security standards
  • Experience with channel partners, integrators, or OEMs
