Job Description:

The Database Programmer Analyst Senior position primary focus is on developing and supporting new and existing Database development amongst other responsibilities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
Experience
  • Five years of database design/development (MS SQL).
  • Three years advanced ETL and SSIS design/development (MS SQL).
Our Preferred Candidate:
  • Advanced experience with SSIS package design, heterogeneous data integration, MS SQL replication and always-on.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

  • Acts as technical lead, training lower level analysts; assigns and evaluates work done by programming staff
  • Leads the coordination of work with other staff of varying disciplines in the applications development process to include IT Security, project managers, business integration specialists, etc.
  • Designs, programs, implements, and maintains application software systems; ensures that programs can be integrated into the applications systems
  • Develops and implements modifications of applications, troubleshooting programming problems to isolate program issues and takes appropriate action to correct
  • Deploys migrations to new versions of the systems including system testing, data conversion, application set-up, and system upgrades
  • Writes and maintains operating procedures; creates disaster recovery documentation, training documentation, and instructional documentation
  • Supports COTS application databases and integrations
  • Serves as support for in-house developed application databases and integrations
  • Reviews departmental needs and user requests for program changes, bug fixes, system enhancements and new programs
  • Understand SQL queries, stored procedures and functions
  • Evaluates workflow and methods, recommends and implements appropriate automated systems and procedures
  • Build reports and dashboards with SSRS
  • Serve as a backup to various Database Analyst functions as needed
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned
