MarkLogic Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mark Logic Developer to design, build, and support APIs that power critical business operations. This role focuses on developing and optimizing APIs using Mark Logic, XQuery, and XPath, loading and managing complex data sets, and supporting production systems in an agile environment. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Mark Logic architecture, search capabilities, and data modeling concepts, and is comfortable collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs using Mark Logic to support business operations and data retrieval needs
• Implement and optimize XQuery and XPath for efficient data access, transformation, and manipulation
• Load, ingest, and transform XML and JSON data into the Mark Logic database
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define APIs and data models
• Provide production support, including troubleshooting issues, fixing defects, and optimizing database and API performance
• Monitor and tune Mark Logic search, indexing, and query performance
• Generate reports and insights using CORB and other Mark Logic utilities
• Participate in agile ceremonies (stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement
• Document APIs, data models, and technical solutions to support long term maintainability

• 6–8 years of hands‑on experience as a Mark Logic Developer
• Strong understanding of Mark Logic architecture, including indexing, search, and database concepts
• Advanced proficiency in XQuery, XPath, and XSDs
• Solid experience with XML and JSON data modeling and transformation
• Proven experience developing and supporting APIs in Mark Logic
• Hands on experience with data ingestion and loading into Mark Logic databases
• Experience providing production support for enterprise applications
• Familiarity with CORB for batch processing and report generation
• Ability to work effectively in an agile environment with cross functional teams
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience integrating Mark Logic with enterprise systems or microservices
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Experience working in large scale or high availability environments
