Equal Opportunity Employer / Individuals with Disabilities / Protected Veterans Position SummaryOur client is currently seeking a Linux Administrator with AWS Skills in our Scottsdale, AZ facility.
The Linux Administrator provides infrastructure support for Service Now MID servers, application nodes, RDS instances, and supporting systems within a self-hosted network enclave. This role combines Linux system administration with cloud infrastructure expertise to ensure reliable platform operations, particularly for Discovery, and any future integrations.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain Service Now MID servers on Linux platforms for future Discovery and integration operations
- Configure and maintain AWS infrastructure components including EC2 instances, RDS databases, VPCs, security groups, and networking for cloud-based Service Now resources
- Implement system hardening, patching, and security configurations aligned with federal security baselines (STIGs, CIS benchmarks)
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot Linux-level issues affecting Service Now operations
- Automate deployment and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Cloud Formation
- Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for MID servers and supporting infrastructure components
- Coordinate with network and security teams on firewall rules, routing, and connectivity requirements across enclaves
- Maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and configuration management databases
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification preferred
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Sys Ops Administrator certification strongly preferred
- 3+ years Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments
- 2+ years hands‑on AWS experience including EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Cloud Watch
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible)
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Understanding of secure cloud architectures and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA)
- Active security clearance or ability to re‑qualify immediately
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Commitment to You- Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)
This position can be a minimum of three days on-site or full time on-site.
While on-site, you will be a part of the SDA team located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
