Description
  • Install, configure, and maintain Service Now MID servers on Linux platforms for future Discovery and integration operations
  • Manage Linux server infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Ubuntu systems supporting Service Now
  • Configure and maintain AWS infrastructure components including EC2 instances, RDS databases, VPCs, security groups, and networking for cloud-based Service Now resources
  • Implement system hardening, patching, and security configurations aligned with federal security baselines (STIGs, CIS benchmarks)
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot Linux-level issues affecting Service Now operations
  • Automate deployment and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Cloud Formation
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for MID servers and supporting infrastructure components
  • Coordinate with network and security teams on firewall rules, routing, and connectivity requirements across enclaves
  • Maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and configuration management databases
  • This role requires a minimum of three days per week working on-site.
Required Skills
  • 3+ years Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments
  • 2+ years hands‑on AWS experience including EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Cloud Watch
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible)
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages
  • Understanding of secure cloud architectures and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification preferred
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Sys Ops Administrator certification strongly preferred
Required

Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job‑related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job‑related experience.
