CNA National is seeking a hands‑on Linux Cloud Engineer to help design, automate, secure, and optimize the cloud infrastructure that supports our critical business applications and digital services. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative technology environment where your Linux administration, AWS, automation, and troubleshooting expertise will directly support system reliability, performance, and modernization.
In this role, you will partner closely with IT Operations, Dev Ops, Security, and Development teams to strengthen cloud platforms, streamline infrastructure operations, and improve the resilience, scalability, and security of Linux‑based production environments.
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona. This role is based in the office four days per week, with one remote workday.

What You’ll Do- Design, deploy, administer, and support Linux‑based cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on AWS.
- Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments utilizing AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, EFS, FSx, S3, and other related services.
- Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline provisioning, configuration management, patching, and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, along with other automation frameworks.
- Administer and operate AWS Systems Manager (SSM) and related tooling to manage patching, configuration, and operational automation at scale.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure, Linux operating systems, and application performance to ensure optimal availability and service delivery.
- Administer Linux operating systems, including patch management, upgrades, security hardening, and performance tuning.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and business continuity initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
- Participate in after‑hours maintenance activities and on‑call support rotations as required.
- Minimum of 5 years of Linux systems administration experience in enterprise environments.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on AWS experience supporting Linux workloads in production environments.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Puppet, or similar automation tools.
- Proficiency with shell scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience supporting cloud infrastructure in highly available production environments.
- Experience with version control (Git) and integrating infrastructure changes into collaborative workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tooling.
- Working experience with container technologies, Kubernetes, and orchestration platforms;
Amazon EKS experience preferred. - Experience administering Oracle Linux environments and patch management using Oracle Linux OS Management Hub (or Oracle Linux Manager / Spacewalk).
- Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as Amazon Cloud Watch, Icinga, or Nagios.
- Knowledge of integrating monitoring solutions with SIEM platforms, preferably Splunk.
- Experience with AWS RDS and supporting database‑adjacent production workloads.
