The role works closely with cross‑functional teams and engineering partners to deliver high‑performance cloud‑native solutions as part of a multi‑year migration of mission‑critical applications and data from on‑premise to AWS.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud‑native solutions using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, EKS, and more, with a focus on cost management.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions that incorporate regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements by applying established security controls and engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems spanning multiple layers of the stack, collaborating across teams.
  • Lead root‑cause analyses for incidents and participate in the 24/7 on‑call rotation.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure cloud environments meet regulatory requirements (PCI‑DSS, SOC2, FFIEC) and lead internal and external audit reviews.

  • Oversee the cloud vulnerability management and configuration program, ensuring patching meets Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of cloud infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Design cloud infrastructure for robustness, security, and observability, including logging and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk).
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in building a technical plan and backlog of stories, then follow through on execution of design, build, and production delivery.
Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 8 years in Cloud Engineering or Dev Ops roles, with 3+ years of hands‑on AWS experience.
  • Deep expertise in AWS core services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM) and strong knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and Linux environments.
  • Hands‑on Docker experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering business‑critical systems to market.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate within a team.
  • Knowledge of mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding) and software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN).
  • Proven track record implementing security & compliance controls aligned with frameworks such as PCI‑DSS, SOC2, or FFIEC.
  • Experience maintaining IaC with tools such as Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, or Ansible.
  • Experience building and automating observability at scale for complex transactional systems.
  • High level of customer responsiveness, excellent documentation and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work in ambiguous situations.
  • Current AWS (and/or other cloud‑based) certification(s).
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
