This on-site Network Operations Engineer role focuses on monitoring critical systems, responding to incidents quickly, and helping improve the reliability of services that keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor networks, cloud environments, databases, DNS, and authentication services to help maintain service health around the clock.
  • Act as a first responder for alerts, investigating issues and triaging incidents as they arise.
  • Escalate complex problems to the appropriate engineering teams using established procedures and response paths.
  • Document incidents, shift activity, and service status clearly for handoffs and reporting.
  • Participate in escalation calls and collaborate with technical teams to support troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Contribute observations and recommendations during incident reviews to help strengthen long-term reliability.
Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a NOC, SOC, Tech Ops, or similar structured operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of incident management processes, service levels, and operational escalation practices.
  • Hands-on experience monitoring enterprise networks, cloud infrastructure, and critical databases.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, authentication services, SSL/TLS, and core networking concepts.
  • Experience using observability or monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Datadog, Kentik, Logic Monitor, or similar tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site in Scottsdale, AZ and support a shift that includes at least one weekend day each week, as well as holiday coverage when scheduled.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with incident and ticketing platforms such as Pager Duty, Opsgenie, Service Now, JIRA, or Incident.io.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or Bash to support operational tasks.
  • Solid Linux fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
  • Relevant networking certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, or JNCIA.
