Onsite ASL Interpreter - Arizona metro area

Propio Language Services provides critical interpreting and translation services that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. We offer both remote and on‑site services in more than 350 languages to over 6,000 clients with a diverse and highly experienced staff, and over 8,000 contract interpreters.

We are currently looking for Onsite American Sign Language Interpreters in the Arizona metro area who have a sincere desire to use their language skills to help people and are passionate about what they do.

• Provide consecutive in‑person and virtual (phone and video) first‑person interpretation.
• Follow interpreter protocols and procedures required by Propio L.S. clients.
• Follow all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and/or regulatory requirements or policies and standards.
• Establish and maintain quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.
• Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge, as required for various clients (medical, legal, social services, etc.).

• Submission of updated resume.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate level computer skills.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to provide documentation of updated vaccinations (TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B or declination, Tdap, seasonal influenza, COVID).
• Successful completion of a drug test and background check & security screen.
• A signed commitment to confidentiality, adherence to ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

• 1+ year of interpreting experience.

• National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC)
• International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA)
• California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA)
