Job Title:Settlement Disbursement Specialist (Full-time/In-Person)
Position Summary:The settlement disbursement specialist works with a legal team to prepare a final document for the final stage of the personal injury matter. In addition, confirm final documentation and collection of final liens and outstanding balances, and any reduction negotiation for the disbursement of settlement funds under the direction of attorneys and the director of lien resolution.
Key Responsibilities:- Document the file in the firm’s case management system, Filevine, to include accurate and detailed notes on the case closing process.
- Monitor case status, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of claims, and providing clients with regular updates.
- Work with the legal team, including attorneys, case managers, demand writers, and lien negotiators.
- Collaborate with medical providers and lien holders to resolve issues, obtain medical records, balance verification, and negotiate provider reductions on outstanding medical balances.
- Report claims to AHCCCS, private ERISA insurance plan, Medicare, and Veterans Affairs/Tricare plans for lien resolution and prepare files for submission to demand writers and disbursement of settlement funds.
- Prepare the final disbursement package for review and compliance.
- Coordinate with auto insurance carriers to obtain the settlement check.
- Manage receipt of settlement check, obtain release and e‑signatures from client.
- Work closely with accounting regarding final disbursement to clients and providers.
- Knowledge of Personal Injury best practices, including medical treatment protocols, healthcare and government agency regulations, liens, and insurance billing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfort with case management software and CRM platforms, Filevine.
- Ability to multitask in a high‑volume, demanding environment.
- Empathy and emotional intelligence when speaking with injured or distressed individuals.
- Fluent in Spanish (verbal & written), is a strong plus.
