Join the City of Scottsdale's Parks and Recreation department as a Parks & Recreation Operations Supervisor and lead the mission-driven Adaptive Recreation team that creates fun, safe, and meaningful experiences for individuals with diverse neuro and physical abilities.

As the Parks & Recreation Operations Supervisor, you’ll guide a dedicated team that delivers programs in art, sports, life skills, and community engagement — including Special Olympics training, social events, and enrichment activities that strengthen belonging across Scottsdale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate full-time and part-time staff
  • Oversee daily operations, projects, and program activities
  • Assign and review staff work, coordinate schedules, and allocate staffing year-round
  • Build programs, activities, and community partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local organizations
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for assigned program areas
  • Conduct staff meetings, trainings, and accommodation assessments
  • Ensure ADA compliance and support inclusion services across recreation program

Please note:

This position must possess a valid CPR certification at the time of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $43.24/hour or $89,939.20/annually.

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Three years of experience in a related field specific to the area of assignment.
  • Must have at least one year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job‑related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements
  • Must possess, at time of application, and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Motor Vehicle Department requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.

    Note:

    Graduated Driver’s Licenses are considered restricted.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification at time of hire or promotion.
