About this RoleGeneral Description
The Sr. Materials Coordinator oversees the full lifecycle of materials management for assigned projects, ensuring timely receipt, inspection, documentation, storage, staging, and inventory accuracy. This role provides administrative and operational support to the Yard Operations team and ensures all materials-related processes comply with client, project, and QISG requirements. The Sr. Materials Coordinator serves as a central resource for maintaining consistent materials management practices across all projects within their QISG region.
WhatYou'll Do
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure all construction material deliveries are properly received, inspected, stored, and documented in accordance with the QISG Project Materials Management Manual and any project‑specific requirements.
- Oversee and manage transactional accuracy in JDE, including receipts, inspection documentation, and reconciliation of discrepancies such as overages, shortages, damages, or QA/QC issues.
- Provide administrative support to the regional Materials Operations team as required.
- Offer limited on‑site support for onboarding and as operational needs arise.
- Resolve material‑related issues by coordinating directly with project managers, engineering, suppliers, fabricators, construction teams, project controls, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain visibility into QA/QC receiving and issuing activities to ensure safe, timely, and accurate material handling by Yard Operations personnel.
- Assist in planning and executing phase bundling, structure staging, and kitting to streamline material availability by discipline.
- Coordinate and support on‑site material audits to verify inventory accuracy.
- Maintain all files, receipts, and records related to lay‑down yard inventory and operations.
- Manage and input project material data into the inventory management system to ensure real‑time, accurate reporting.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise the off‑loading, storage, and issuance of materials to construction teams.
- Support the Materials Project Manager with project closeout activities, including purchase order reconciliation, contract documentation, and disposition of excess materials.
- Serve as a liaison between project managers, customers, suppliers, construction management, and corporate services to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly yard environment using proper housekeeping practices.
- Assist with project mobilization and demobilization efforts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Required Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials management within a warehouse, retail, or lay‑down yard environment.
- Working knowledge of receiving processes, including physical counts, inspections, inventory control, storage, and material issuance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
