Position SummaryThis position provides strategic leadership and administration in patient care, education, safety, and quality for the Behavioral Health Adolescents Unit, a 48‑bed area. The Director reports to the RN Senior Director, Chief Nursing Officer. Responsibilities include oversight of direct care staff, staff development, retention, staffing, financial oversight, and enhancing patient experience. The role is eligible for Banner's Management Incentive Plan.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 24‑hour accountability and oversight for behavioral health RNs and specialists.
- Lead a team of two Assistant Directors and 70‑80 staff members.
- Develop and implement planning structures to optimize organizational outcomes.
- Recruit, retain, and develop talent through communication, performance management, and professional development.
- Manage financial, human, and material resources to align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure clinical outcomes, quality, safety, and evidence‑based practice.
- Collaborate with physicians, facility leaders, and community partners.
- Maintain patient and staff safety, confidentiality, and high‑quality care.
Lead integration of innovation and evidence-based findings into practice, creating a supportive environment.
Produce outcomes that meet or exceed strategic targets in clinical operations, finance, HR, and quality.
Coordinate services with leaders and administrators to achieve goals and maintain regulatory compliance.
- BSN or MSN required for all new hires, effective July 1 2013; existing incumbents must have BSN/MSN by July 1 2015.
- Current RN license in the state of practice and BLS certification.
- 3‑5 years progressive care‑management experience, including leadership of strategic clinical operations.
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.
- Strong written and oral communication, decision‑making, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
