Position:
Perioperative 101 Program – RN

This 6‑month training program prepares nurses to work in the Operating Room. New graduates are welcome to apply but must obtain an RN license before the program starts (9/8/2026).

• Apply RN knowledge and clinical judgment in an operating room setting.
• Perform patient assessment, document findings, and contribute to patient care plans.
• Administer medications, manage IV lines, and operate medical equipment.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding post‑operative care, medication, diet, and rehabilitation.
• Delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides and provide guidance and supervision.
• Precept and mentor new hires and students, fostering clinical skill development.
• Implement evidence‑based protocols, such as stroke care pathways and NIHSS Stroke Alert.
• Participate in quality improvement, data collection, and reporting to enhance patient outcomes.

• Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (or eligible compact).
• BSN required within 60 months of hire, or 5+ years of RN experience (direct or indirect).
• Completion of 6‑month program; new graduates must be licensed before program start.

• 1 year RN experience for all float positions.
• BSN degree preferred.

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at hire.
• Unit‑specific national certification required for the patient population.
