Job Description

Provide Occupational Safety & Health and Quality Assurance support for a large diverse support services contractor workforce in a military defense systems testing environment. Conduct Section Quality Control and Safety audits, investigations of personal injury and vehicle accidents, and inspect buildings and shop areas for compliance with safety regulations and guidance such as OSHA, ARMY, and EPA. Review and enforce TRAX Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Assist in the education and enforcement of company Safety, Fleet Vehicle, and Quality Policies. Continuously assess current practices, identify areas of improvement, and solicit process improvements. Secondary duties include identifying, analyzing, communicating, and mitigating common industrial support activity hazards and dynamically emerging hazards relative to test activities; investigating and reporting post-incident causal factor analysis; contract compliance activity inspections, work center process improvement procedure reviews, and interaction with government subject matter experts and evaluators to facilitate continuous improvement in Quality/Safety.

Perform additional duties as required to complete the assigned mission.

Responsibilities
  • Confirm that audit procedures are properly carried out and maintained.
  • Determine overall compliance by conducting inspections on buildings and areas to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Conduct investigations of personal injury and vehicle accidents.
  • Resolve safety and quality problems by maintaining an active presence in the field.
  • Maintain and investigate Near Misses and Safety Hazard Reports.
  • Consult with management and other specialists on enhancing operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and safety.
  • Discuss Standard Operations with management and make recommendations that are time‑sensitive for improvement and correction.
  • Function as an information source for the field and establish a safety presence for the range, YPG and TRAX.
  • Assist in administering the company drug and alcohol program to include random testing with on‑site collections of urine and breath samples.
  • Prepare evaluation reports and submit them to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Pay Rate: DOE

Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience Requirements
  • Must have a BS in a safety‑related or environmental field or equivalent applied field experience within safety and quality control aspects.
  • Training in safety/environmental courses, seminars, or certifications.
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA regulations.
Job Skill Requirements
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and be able to work with a variety of personality types.
Physical Requirements
  • Must pass pre‑employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed and assigned.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be able to travel unaccompanied on the ranges.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
