Sales Representative, Sales Consultant, Business Development
Full-Time|On-Site|Base Salary + Commission
We're doubling down on the client relationships that make our showroom the first call for designers and architects across the Valley — and we need an Inside Sales Representative to own them. You'll be the person a designer calls when they're stuck on a fabric, unsure about lead times, or ready to spec an entire project, and you'll turn that trust into booked sales and repeat business.
AboutMADE | Materials for Designers
MADE | Materials for Designers is a to-the-trade showroom in Scottsdale exclusively representing textile, wallcovering, furniture, lighting, and rug brands from around the world. We serve interior designers and architects, not the general public, and our showroom is built to be a destination for inspiration — a place where trade professionals come to see, touch, and source the materials that shape their projects.
We work in close partnership with our clients from first concept through final installation, and we take pride in a personal, relationship-first sales experience that a catalog or a website can't replicate.
Twelve months from now, you'll have built a loyal roster of designer and architect clients who call MADE first when a project needs something special. You'll be a known, trusted face in the local design community — someone who shows up, follows through, and makes ordering painless from quote to delivery. You'll understand your clients' aesthetics and project needs well enough to recommend the right product before they even ask, and you'll have built the kind of follow-up discipline that keeps projects on schedule and clients coming back.
WhatYou'll Do
- Own a client list of designers, architects, and other trade professionals — understanding each one's project needs, aesthetic, and preferences well enough to recommend the right products from the lines we represent
- Proactively reach out to prospective and existing clients to bring them into the showroom and grow your book of business
- Process your own sales orders from quote through invoice, keeping specs, quantities, and pricing accurate
- Track every open order closely and follow up diligently with vendors and clients so orders stay on schedule and issues get caught early
- Follow up with clients after their order is delivered or installed to confirm satisfaction and resolve anything that comes up
- Partner with the other salespeople on the floor to manage showroom traffic, walk-ins, calls, and inquiries so every client gets timely, attentive service
- Work with the Showroom Coordinator to help maintain the showroom's visual merchandising and presentation standards
- Work with Outside Sales to stay on top of what’s happening in the field and to pick up leads and follow up from appointments.
- 2+ years of experience in sales, retail, or another client-facing role — ideally within design, home furnishings, or a related trade industry
- Strong math skills; comfortable and accurate calculating quotes, order specs, and pricing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an outgoing, relationship-first personality
- Highly organized with strong follow-through — able to manage multiple open orders and client relationships at once without letting things slip
- A genuine interest in interior design and materials; you won't be doing design work directly, but you should love being around great design and understand how designers think
- A collaborative mindset — comfortable working alongside other salespeople to manage shared showroom traffic
- Coursework or a degree in interior design, textiles, or a related field
- Familiarity with color theory, scale, and spatial awareness as they apply to materials and product selection
- Prior experience in a to-the-trade showroom, design center, or similar environment
- Existing relationships with designers or architects in the Phoenix/Scottsdale market
This role is paid on a base salary plus commission/bonus structure — your earnings grow directly with the relationships you build and the business you bring in. Benefits include PTO, Sick Leave, Health Care Reimbursement.
