Sales Account Manager (Primary Care & Outpatient)

Rocky Mountain Laboratories – Scottsdale and Surrounding Areas, AZ

About Us

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive diagnostic testing services. We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information and are committed to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge technology and a customer-focused approach.

Position

We are seeking a driven Sales Account Manager to grow our diagnostic-testing partnerships in Scottsdale and surrounding areas. This is a high-autonomy, field-based outside sales role responsible for growing an existing book of accounts and developing new business across the territory.

This role focuses on building long‑term relationships with outpatient physician practices, including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB‑GYN/women's health, endocrinology, urology, dermatology, gastroenterology, allergy/immunology, rheumatology, outpatient cardiology, and other primary care or specialty clinics that routinely use diagnostic testing.

This is healthcare sales at its core: account management, territory development, prospecting, and face‑to‑face relationship building. Candidates may come from medical sales, diagnostic sales, pharmaceutical sales, or other professional B2B and field sales environments. Strong communication skills, confidence presenting to clinical teams, and the ability to independently manage a high‑activity territory are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a territory strategy across Scottsdale and surrounding areas
  • Manage and grow an established base of client accounts through regular onsite visits and account reviews
  • Identify opportunities to expand testing services within existing accounts
  • Resolve service issues quickly and coordinate with internal teams to protect retention
  • Identify and pursue new business through structured prospecting, cold outreach, and consistent onsite visits
  • Conduct professional presentations with physicians, practice managers, NPs/PAs, MAs, and clinic leadership
  • Manage the full sales cycle for new accounts, from initial outreach to contracting and onboarding
  • Build strong, long‑term client relationships focused on education, service value, and retention
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, pipeline management, and forecasting
  • Understand clinic workflows to identify where diagnostic services can support clinical and operational needs
  • Serve as a model for territory best practices and share what's working with the broader sales effort
  • Contribute to refining the sales playbook as the Phoenix market develops
  • Monitor trends in outpatient medicine and adjust strategies as needed
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing service delivery
  • Provide reliable follow‑up and in‑person support to maintain satisfaction and strengthen partnerships
  • Represent the company professionally within the Phoenix‑area outpatient healthcare community
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of field sales, outside sales, or B2B sales experience
  • Proven ability to retain and grow existing accounts while self‑sourcing leads and closing new business
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Effective presentation, negotiation, and territory management abilities
  • Highly organized and comfortable working independently in a field‑based role
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and mobile field tools
  • Willingness to travel frequently throughout Scottsdale and surrounding areas
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience engaging outpatient clinics, physician offices, or healthcare organizations
  • Familiarity with specialties…
