Job DescriptionPAY GRADE: B
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students; reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office.
- Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students, which may include identifying safety violations, diffusing situations among students, and reinforcing positive social behavior.
- Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to complete Crossing Guard training.
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures.
- Customer service principles.
SKILLS:
- Recognizing potential security risks.
- Providing customer service.
- Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange information and receive work direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Will need to exert up to 10 pounds on occasion to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including a human body.
