Irrigation Technician

The role involves assisting in maintaining, repairing, and monitoring the irrigation system, including pumps, piping, valves, heads, PRVs, and suction screens, and performing related work as required. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic. At least one year of experience in golf course maintenance and familiarity with basic irrigation practices are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Assist Manager or Irrigation Technician II in maintaining and repairing complex golf course irrigation systems.
• Hand water golf course as directed by supervisors.
• Perform technical tasks and manual labor involved in maintaining and repairing irrigation systems.
• Operate and maintain pumping equipment.
• Read water flow meters.
• Repair broken pipe and swing joints.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Cla-valves and PRV screens (including pressure settings).
• Change head spacing for more effective water distribution.
• Raise or lower irrigation heads as required.
• Monitor and reset angles of spray on part-circle heads to irrigate turf only.
• Maintain drainage systems and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors and management.
