Job Overview

A Pest Control Technician performs residential pest management services, including inspections, application of treatments, and customer education.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
  • Apply approved pest control products such as chemicals, baits, and traps, maintaining safety standards.
  • Educate customers on pest prevention methods and best practices for a pest‑free environment.
  • Provide advisory services to reduce future infestation risk.
  • Build client relationships, schedule appointments, confirm services, and support sales to existing and new customers.
  • Maintain pest control equipment, ensuring proper stocking and functioning.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding product use and safety protocols.
  • Operate a company‑provided service vehicle, receiving routine maintenance instructions.
Essential Job Functions
  • Work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, and narrow aisles.
  • Handle exposure to animals, insects, shrubs, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in local climate, using company‑provided weather gear.
  • Perform frequent movement: sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including OSHA‑compliant respirators.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, with related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
  • Required licenses or certificates as mandated by federal, state, or local regulations (covered by the employer).
  • Availability to work Monday–Friday and weekends as needed.
  • Strong communication skills: reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Basic math proficiency for mixing instructions.
  • Customer‑facing experience preferred.
  • Clean, shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal around the face).
