Senior Technician, Facilities
Responsible for facility maintenance services and operations including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance and operations, housekeeping, and landscape/grounds maintenance. Manage a technical support staff and ensure all systems are fully operational and compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced maintenance service and repairs in specialized technical and skilled trade areas.
- Ensure maximum efficient operations of facilities and equipment and care of all grounds and support equipment, leading a technical support staff.
- Inspect and maintain all utility infrastructure and systems in accordance with accepted standards and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair programs for structural, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff.
- Remain compliant with federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least four years of related work experience; experience in carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical maintenance, plumbing, HVAC maintenance and operations, janitorial and/or grounds maintenance preferred.
- Industry trade certifications strongly preferred.
- General knowledge of HVAC mechanical and life safety systems, motor controls, vibration analysis, and equipment balancing.
- Knowledge of codes, principles, and techniques for installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of HVAC mechanical systems and devices.
- Proficiency with mechanical test equipment.
- Ability to install, maintain, repair, and operate moderately complex HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Requires working in a building maintenance environment, with possible overtime and non‑standard or rotating shifts.
- May involve outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds and to push/move up to 100 pounds.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
