About the RoleAs a Lead AV Install Technician
, you will play a critical role in overseeing the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of advanced audiovisual systems. You'll lead installation teams, ensure projects are completed to the highest standards, and collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver exceptional results.
This position is ideal for an experienced AV professional who enjoys hands‑on work, technical problem‑solving, and leading successful installations from start to finish.
What You'll Do- Install and configure audiovisual systems including:
- Displays and video walls
- Audio systems and speakers
- Control systems
- Conferencing and collaboration solutions
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards and industry best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and quality assurance checks.
- Read and interpret AV schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Lead installation crews on‑site.
- Train, mentor, and support junior technicians.
- Promote safe work practices and maintain a positive team environment.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate installation documentation and project records.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of AV installation experience
- Previous leadership or lead technician experience preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- AV signal flow
- Control systems
- Experience with platforms such as:
- Crestron
- Extron
- Q-SYS
- Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings and schematics
- CTS
- Q-SYS Certification
