Software Engineer with active Secret/ability to obtain Top Secret (US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED)
Rate$60/hr - $73/hr W2 (no health benefits/no paid PTO—hour worked is an hour paid)
ClearanceTop Secret, obtainable within reasonable time based on requirements
LocationScottsdale AZ (This position can be fully remote/telework, fully on‑site, or Hybrid). No relocation package offered
Duration12+ months or contract to hire (conversion to perm normally after 6 months)
RestrictionsNo C2C. We can NOT work with outside agencies/vendors, and we can NOT do 1099. US CITIZENSHIP is REQUIRED.
Position DescriptionAs a Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross‑functional team developing and deploying state‑of‑the‑art ground operational systems. Your work will directly contribute to the success and innovation of the program.
Clearance RequirementsDepartment of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Skills and Experiences- Programming and Development: Proficiency in Python and Java; strong understanding of API design, testing, development, and management; familiarity with Scaled Agile methodology and best practices.
- Dev Ops and Cloud: Knowledge of Dev Ops principles, CI/CD pipelines, Git Ops, automation, configuration management, infrastructure as code; experience with AWS (AWS Solutions Architect preferred), Azure is a plus; familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Security: Understanding of security best practices, risk, compliance, vulnerability management, encryption, PKI, incident response, auditing, and monitoring.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to work effectively with development, operations, and security teams; excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills; proficient in generating documentation and sharing knowledge.
- Artificial Intelligence: Experience with prompt engineering and AI tools to accelerate workloads.
- Tools: CI/CD and Development:
Git Lab, Nexus Managed Artifacts, Ansible, Terragrunt, ArgoCD, VS Code, Maven;
Cloud and Containerization: AWS EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, EBS/EFS, VPC, DNS, IAM, KMS, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail;
Kubernetes, Docker;
Security, Monitoring, and Logging: ACAS/Grype vulnerability scanning, SIEM (Splunk), Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack;
Version Control and
Collaboration:
Git, Jira, Confluence.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job‑related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job‑related experience. Agile experience preferred.
