Role: Software Integration & Test Engineer
Client: Defense-Aerospace
Hourly Rate: up to $46/hr (W2, non-benefited)
Length: 12 months
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
Responsibilities- Execute software integration and test (I&T) on software defined hardware solutions.
- Troubleshoot software bugs realized during I&T, working with hardware and software engineers to resolve.
- Follow best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and test reporting.
- Support development of automated test scripts using Python 3.9+.
- Coordinate integration activities between hardware, firmware, and software teams.
- Support AGILE implementation.
- Support configuration management documentation and processes to release and deliver software.
- Maintain accurate records of test activities and results.
- Knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming and scripting languages, Python.
- Experience with hardware/software integration testing.
- Experience with test equipment (signal analyzer, signal generator, USRP).
- Willing to work in a fast‑paced, rapid‑prototype environment, adapting to immediate course correction as needed.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Outstanding communication skills for frequent contact with managers, project teams across the company and external customers and vendors.
- Familiarity with software testing and debug.
- Background in defense or aerospace industries.
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments.
- Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Agile experience preferred.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job‑related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job‑related experience.
