Job Overview
This role is not eligible for sponsorship and is four days onsite hybrid at our N. Scottsdale office. Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our SDET 3 in the Quality Control organization. This team works closely with the Test Engineering teams to ensure that all automation frameworks are free from defects, performing according to specifications, and correctly interacting with all connected applications.
As a key member of our QA organization, you will create robust libraries and tooling to ensure accurate, repeatable testing to help deliver the highest quality software possible.
- Actively contribute to peer code review.
- Leverage, improve, and contribute to framework functionality and coding standards.
- Coach and mentor junior team members.
- Research and implement new platforms and technologies.
- Integrate and maintain test suites as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Work alongside developers, fellow QA, and business team members to develop strategies and optimizations for new and existing automation.
- Implement and report on automation metrics and statistics to business, peers, and leadership teams.
- Test complex AI, API, web, and mobile applications referencing backend databases.
- Write, maintain, execute, and analyze automated tests and effectively report the results.
- Document test steps, assertions, and dependent test data to ensure maintainability and repeatability of tests.
- Execute and analyze automated test results and perform root cause analysis while documenting steps to reproduce.
- Write defects, communicate potential areas of impact, and automate tests related to identified defects after fixes are provided.
- A minimum of 4 years of equivalent experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership roles preferred.
- Strong proficiencies in Java, Maven, Git, AWS, AI.
- Fluency across toolsets and workflows.
- Working knowledge of software orchestration tools such as Jenkins or Harness.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- The ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- The ability to self‑learn and a desire to increase technical knowledge and skillsets.
- The ability to coach and mentor others.
This position reports to the Manager, AI Operations as an individual contributor with no direct reports.
