Application Engineer Lead

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Application Engineer Lead for a contract assignment with one of our premier Infrastructure Services clients in Scottsdale, AZ, Atlanta, GA or Omaha, NE
.

Hiring a Full Stack Developer to own the design, development, and support of enterprise web applications across our .NET backend and Angular frontend. You'll work on applications serving thousands of users in the Financial Services sector, collaborating with product teams, architects, and QA to ship features that matter.

The role is equally backend and frontend—expect 50/50 split between C# API work and Angular UI development, with SQL Server and Dev Ops expertise supporting both.

• Core Development (75%)
  • Design and implement REST APIs and backend services in ASP.NET Core and C#
  • Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces in Angular 18+ and Type Script
  • Optimize SQL Server queries and maintain database schema
  • Write unit and integration tests to maintain code quality
• Delivery & Operations (20%)
  • Support applications through Azure Dev Ops—from sprint planning through production deployment
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production
  • Participate in code reviews
• Continuous Improvement (5%)
  • Refactor and modernize existing applications
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and practices

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5 years of professional software development (equivalent practical experience considered)
• C# and ASP.NET Core — comfortable building REST APIs, service-oriented architecture, dependency injection
• Angular 18+ — modern component design, reactive forms, Type Script fundamentals
• SQL Server — query optimization, stored procedures, database design
• Azure Dev Ops — source control, work item tracking, CI/CD pipeline management
• Testing frameworks— unit testing (xUnit, NUnit) and integration testing
• Web fundamentals — HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles
• Agile practices— sprint planning, estimation, backlog grooming

• Ownership mindset — You see features through from requirements to production, not just "coding tasks "
• Full-stack fluency — You move fluidly between backend and frontend without context thrashing
• Problem solver — You debug systematically, ask good questions, and learn from production issues
• Communicator — You explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
• Quality focused— You write testable code and care about maintainability, not just "working”

• Microsoft Azure (App Service, SQL Database, Service Bus)
• Microservices patterns and event-driven architecture
• RabbitMQ or message queue experience
• Docker and containerization
• Production support and troubleshooting experience
• Financial Services industry background
• Sonar Qube and static code analysis tools
