Our team is built on experience, talent, and - most importantly, attitude. We thrive in a fast-paced environment and value infinite curiosity, a people-first mindset, and a shared commitment to learning, growth, and pride in the work we do. At equipifi, we practice radical transparency, encouraging team members to move quickly, share ideas openly, and collaborate with peers who will respectfully challenge one another as we learn, build, and grow together.
Success in this role comes from the ability to adapt fast, question the status quo, explore new ideas, and ask thoughtful (sometimes uncomfortable) questions - all while maintaining momentum in service of better customer outcomes. The work we do takes a village - and in an environment that moves fast, we embrace the adventure together.
equipifi is looking for an Engineering Manager to bring performance management and operational rigor to our engineering org as we scale. We're builders here, and building fast is fun, but it's even better when the team shipping it has the coaching, metrics, and cadence to know it's building the right things, well. As we've grown, that ownership needs a dedicated home, someone to be the framework holding our engineering team together.
You’ll run point on three pods, working closely with George, our other Engineering Manager, to make sure the team ships faster without sacrificing quality. Continuous delivery, automated testing, DORA metrics - if you know how to build a team that owns those instead of talking about them, this is the place for you.
Outcomes You’ll OwnBuild a high-performing team. You’ll own hiring, coaching, 1:1s, performance management, and promotions across three pods. You’ll have a sharp eye for how new hires are ramping, where someone’s ready for more, and where a quick course-correct keeps momentum going.
Give our engineering systems a dedicated owner. We track throughput, DORA metrics, and architecture decisions today, and we ship consistently already; this is about taking all of it further. You’ll build the KPI dashboard, run architecture reviews, and push deployment cadence from weekly to daily, tightening automated testing along the way - helping engineers own their own quality, not QA.
Unblock horizontally. Product, Ops, and Engineering all move fast, and you’re the person who keeps them moving together. You’ll translate product requirements into clear technical scope and make sure the right person is on the right problem at the right time.
What you bring to equipifi5+ years as a software engineer before moving into management, so you know what good technical work looks like, can spot it, and coach toward it in others.
3+ years as an engineering manager; you've done this long enough to know what works.
Experience with
continuous delivery and automated testing
, not just in theory. You know what it takes to get a team shipping daily and quality staying high while they do it.Fluency with DORA metrics or a comparable framework for measuring engineering throughput and health.
Comfortable with Go
, and with Node.js/Type Script , you don't need to be deep in both, but you need real experience with each. You’ve used Linear or a comparable ticketing system to run cycles, not just track tickets.
AI-native mindset
: you’re already using tools like Claude or Codex to move faster, not waiting to be told to.You know how to manage in every direction
, up to your CTO, sideways with Product and Ops, down to your engineers, and you adjust your message depending on who’s in the room.Bonus points if you've worked with Temporal
, or in a high-security or compliance-heavy environment.
