  • Sort completed packages by carrier, shipping method, or pickup requirements.
  • Monitor shipping queues and prioritize orders based on carrier cutoff times and service levels.
  • Assist with carrier pickups and ensure packages are ready before scheduled pickup deadlines.
  • Identify and elevate damaged packages, shipping discrepancies, incorrect labels, or other potential errors before shipment.
  • Assist with refrigerated or temperature-sensitive shipments when applicable, including proper use of insulated packaging and cold packs.
  • Follow pharmacy policies regarding patient privacy and the handling of protected health information (PHI).
  • Follow all applicable pharmacy, workplace safety, and company policies.

  • Ability to work accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and standardized workflows.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to perform repetitive packaging, labeling, and scanning tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move packages and shipping supplies up to 5–10 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.

  • Accurate – understands that shipping the correct prescription to the correct patient is critical.
  • Fast and efficient – able to maintain productivity without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Dependable – arrives on time and understands that carrier deadlines depend on the shipping team.
  • Organized – keeps orders, supplies, and work areas controlled and orderly.
  • Team-oriented – communicates effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and other operations staff.

This position is based within a high-volume mail-order pharmacy and involves continuous coordination with pharmacy production and fulfillment teams. Work volume may fluctuate throughout the day, particularly as carrier pickup deadlines approach. Employees are expected to maintain accuracy, productivity, professionalism, and patient confidentiality at all times.

Conditions of Employment
