Overview

Lutron has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in Center Valley, PA. This position will support the ongoing transformation of our accounting/finance function; enhance existing and establish new internal controls through continuous improvement efforts; and deliver value to the organization in the form of timely financial information and analysis. As we actively evolve our practices, you will have the unique opportunity to develop a mastery of new technologies (SAP, Power

BI, AI, etc.) while also using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to successfully apply US GAAP principles. A successful Senior Accountant will ensure we achieve compliance with the standards, maintain accurate accounting records and support business leadership. You will gain experience working on one or more Lutron entities or corporate functional areas performing a combination of manufacturing and cost accounting activities like leading physical inventories;

creating plant budgets and assigning work center rates; setting and maintaining standard costs of inventory; analyzing Lutron's supply chains; performing variance analysis; and reporting on the gross margin as well as corporate accounting activities like: performing month-end close; reconciling balance sheet accounts; analyzing and posting transactions in accordance with US GAAP; and providing external audit support. As you gain experience, you will be asked to provide in-depth analyses, to work on impactful projects, and to identify areas for improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Apply organizational skills and attention to detail while performing daily and monthly accounting tasks such as posting journal entries, analyzing transactions, and reconciling accounts
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and reporting standards, identify exceptions, and raise issues
  • Prepare supporting work papers and analysis as required for the annual, external financial audit
  • Analyze and review financial results with accounting and business leadership
  • Assist in the annual financial close and various compliance activities
  • Establish professional relationships with colleagues across multiple departments
  • Take initiative to problem solve and affect change when needed
  • Have opportunities to travel to Lutron manufacturing facilities, on occasion, for activities like training, physical inventories, and immersion in daily operations to enhance professional development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or related field required;
    Dual degree, minor or certification in Data Analytics a plus
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all degrees earned required
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience preferred; experience in public accounting a plus
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
