The Alternative Investments Team provides accounting, pricing, and reconciliation services for our alternative investment fund clients. The team is growing and adds to our client portfolio, offering opportunities to expand knowledge and technology.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly activities of a fund accounting and administration team ranging from entry to senior level.
- Perform micro and macro level reviews of all work, including final review for clients.
- Manage associate time, salary, and performance records; initiate assignment changes, salary increases, conduct performance appraisals, and recommend staffing changes.
- Oversee general ledger accounting functions and ensure proper application of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with SEC, IRS, and GAAP.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other professional firms such as audit and tax partners.
- Monitor and review preliminary and final trial balances and net asset value calculations completed by staff.
- Monitor and review cash settlements, investor activity, interest, dividend payments, and other cash items to resolve issues and prevent future problems.
- Review trade information to reflect current positions in each fund’s portfolio.
- Ensure fund investments are valued in accordance with the fund’s Offering Memorandum (OM).
- Review account reconciliations and resolve exceptions in a timely manner.
- Report information to all interested parties and ensure the final financial package accurately reflects net asset value.
- Ensure income and fees are correctly allocated in accordance with fund documents.
- Coordinate preparation of and review quarterly regulatory filings such as NQ, NCSR, etc., where applicable.
- Provide final detailed review of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, income statistics, notes).
- Act as main point of contact for clients, coordinating issue resolution.
- Coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth audits and minimize cost overruns.
- Provide progressive training for fund accounting staff under the Managing Director’s direction.
- Respond to questions from clients, independent public accountants, coworkers, and management.
- Conduct team meetings and lead or participate in client conference calls.
- Participate in internal meetings to improve internal controls, procedures, and develop or amend policies and procedures.
- Build efficiencies by utilizing and enhancing systems with the application team.
- Actively participate on committees and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Investment Banking, Economics, International Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 7 years of fund accounting experience.
- Understanding of Fund Administration for Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and Real Estate Investments.
- Strong knowledge of SEC, IRS, and GAAP regulations.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

- US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $76,520 - $120,210
