THE POSITION
The McKean County Assistance Office is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 who wants to make a positive difference. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position supports the daily operations of the office by handling essential clerical and customer service tasks. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Processing:
Enter client information, clear records, and route applications to caseworkers - Reception Support:
Greet visitors and respond to needs at the front desk - Phone Handling:
Answer incoming calls and manage voicemail messages from the main line - Mail and Imaging:
Sort mail, process drop box items, and scan documentation into the system - EBT and Records:
Process benefit card requests and complete file clearance tasks - Equipment Operation:
Use various types of office equipment including computers, copy machines, and scanners

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

Conditions:
Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. Employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language. - Telework:
This position may be eligible to telework part time. Telework details will be discussed during the interview process. Telework requires a securely configured high-speed internet connection and an approved location within Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Bradford, PA. Telework eligibility may change at any time. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes). - Further communication about this position will occur via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).
- Graduation from high school.
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Hiring preference will be given to candidates who live within McKean County; if none, candidates from other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer will require submission of criminal history reports.
- You must pass a background investigation.
